Sergio is an Attorney-at-law, partner and head of our International department.
Sergio gives strategic advice to Spanish and international companies with respect to protection and enforcement of IP rights. Accessible and straightforward in talking, Sergio is appreciated for his direct communication style and for his ability to provide a clear global view of a situation.
Sergio has worked with IP law since 2000. Before joining DAUDÉN in 2010, he worked in some of the major Spanish law firms. Through his work, he is daily in contact with issues pertaining to trademarks, patents, industrial designs or copyright, as well as issues regarding unfair competition and conflicts regarding domains. Sergio has extensive experience in drafting and revising contracts in the area of IP. He has also represented several clients before the General Court in Luxembourg in EU trademark and design disputes.
In addition to numerous articles on IP issues, Sergio has authored two books on Non-conventional trade marks in the European Union. He is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences and teaches in the Master in Intellectual Property Magister Lvcentinus at Alicante University.
Sergio has a law degree from the University of Bologna and a Postgraduate specialization in “EU law and economics” (SEU Perugia) as well as in “Finance and business development” (Alma Mater Bologna).
Sergio is a member of the ECTA Design committee and EUIPO-link committee. Moreover, he is member of the board of the IP section of the Alicante Bar (ICALI) and of the Spanish Bar of Patent and Trademark Attorneys (COAPI).
Apart from his native Italian, Sergio’s working languages are Spanish, English and French.
